Rockmybaby® provides licensed home-based childcare across Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke’s Bay, and Manawatu-Whanganui. Our educators offer tailored early childhood education (ECE) in a home setting, creating small-group learning environments that foster close relationships and meaningful interactions.
We ensure that all education and care services comply with the Education (Early Childhood Services) Regulations and the Licensing Criteria for Home-Based Services. How Home-Based Childcare Works
Home-Based Educators
Educators provide childcare from their own homes, creating a secure, nurturing learning environment.
Small groups of up to four preschoolers, with no more than two under the age of two.
Self-employed contractors, setting their own hours and rates
Supported by visiting teachers for professional oversight and curriculum guidance.
Nanny Educators
Nanny educators provide care in your home, and can be shared between families.
Typically employed by the family (or work as independent contractors).
Hourly rates vary depending on experience and qualifications.
Families must meet employment obligations, including minimum wage requirements.
Subsidies may be available to help with costs.
Our team provides guidance on employment contracts, market rates, and subsidy eligibility to support families hiring a nanny.
Families and educators directly manage day-to-day childcare arrangements.
The Enrolment Process:
Find the right educator – We assist in matching families with an educator who suits their needs.
Complete a care contract – Families agree on the educator’s hours, rates, and availability.
Finalise enrolment – Families complete a Rockmybaby® enrolment form to confirm the arrangement.

Community & Learning Programmes
Our visiting teachers and educators work together to create enriching learning experiences through:
Personalised learning plans tailored to each child’s needs.
Monthly visit reports to track progress and development.
Community events & excursions to extend learning beyond the home.
Networking opportunities for educators to collaborate and grow.
Home-based education provides time—time to explore, time to connect, time to learn at a child’s own pace. Through this relationship-based model, educators become "significant others" in a child’s learning journey, helping to foster curiosity, confidence, and growth.
