Frequently Asked Questions - Babysitting
-
Once your booking fee is paid, your request is sent to available babysitters in your area. Most bookings are picked up within minutes to a few hours. If it’s not accepted, we’ll re-release it to increase visibility.
While we do our best to fill every booking, we can't guarantee availability. Feel free to contact us if you have any concerns!
-
Yes, you can! When making your booking, you have the option to request a specific babysitter — including someone you’ve used before. If that babysitter is unavailable, your request will automatically be released to our wider network to help ensure the booking is filled.
-
Yes, we do! You can either book an overnight babysitter directly online or submit a nanny listing if you're looking for more extended or ongoing overnight care.
-
Your child’s safety is our top priority. All Rockmybaby® babysitters go through a thorough recruitment and vetting process before they’re approved to accept bookings.
We also welcome and value feedback from families, which helps us maintain the highest standards across our babysitting team.
-
For safety reasons, we recommend a maximum ratio of 1 babysitter to 4 children. However, this can vary depending on the age, needs of the children, and whether a parent is onsite.
Feel free to contact one of our consultants to discuss your specific situation — we’re here to help make sure you have the right level of care in place.
-
Yes, babysitters can transport children if needed — just make sure to include this in your booking request, specifying that a full driver’s licence and a legal, roadworthy vehicle are required.
If transport is involved, you’ll need to reimburse the babysitter for petrol. This can be added at the end of the booking and included in your final invoice.
For bookings in remote areas (like holiday homes), offering a travel allowance helps attract candidates. You can mention this in the “special requests” section when making your booking.
